TECNALIA is a private, applied research center of international excellence with a great impact on local industry, and turned into a center that attracts people and organizations. TECNALIA was born from the merger of 8 technological centers: Cidemco, ESI, Euve, FATRONIK, Inasmet, Labein, Leia and Robotiker, resulting the largest private R+D+I entity in Spain and the fifth in Europe, with a staff of over 1,400 employees and a turnover of almost 125 million Euros.

The keys turning the vision of TECNALIA into reality are marked by: its private nature; the focusing of its activity on Applied Research; the fact that it is a center of international excellence (international R+D contracts, foreign researchers, international accompaniment of local industries, licenses, IP, etc.); the impact it has on local industry (R+D and Innovation projects with companies, spin offs, training, E+C services); its openness; the fact that it has become a center that attracts people who want to develop their creativity, and organizations (networks) keen to interact and co-generate knowledge with TECNALIA.

TECNALIA’s operating business model is based on business units of a sectorial nature. In the market orientation and specialization are our identifying traits. TECNALIA has 13 Business Units, made up of multi-disciplinary teams which optimize our offer to different strategic sectors. This enables us to achieve a more all-round, more specialized and excellent proposal for the business base and for the administrations.

The business unit of TECNALIA involved in this project is the ICT unit, former EUVE, the TECNALIA’s specialized unit in the development of methods, techniques, and systems for the design, manufacture, maintenance and end of life of ICT technologies to improve the competitiveness of companies.
